Arise Health Plan is a fresh choice in a crowd of big, impersonal, national health insurance giants. Our commitment to customers like you is to be easy to work with and as transparent as possible, so that you always understand your benefits. We continue our tradition of Wisconsin-based service and we’re always looking for ways to make owning and using health insurance easier. Any time you have a question, give our customer service staff a call.
A big life change could qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period
Open Enrollment for 2016 coverage is now over. If you didn’t sign up for a health plan during Open Enrollment, you may still be able to get coverage through a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). SEPs are an important way to make sure that people who lose health insurance during the year or who experience major life changes, such as getting married or having a child, have the opportunity to enroll in coverage.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is rolling out a new confirmation process this year for the 38 states using the Healthcare.gov website for enrollments. Consumers will need to submit proof of their eligibility to use an SEP. Examples include documentation of:
- Loss of minimum essential coverage
- Permanent move
- Adoption, placement for adoption, placement for foster care or child support, or other court order
